Merchandising Specialist We are looking for a detail-oriented Merchandising Specialist to join the Category Management team in Overland Park, Kansas. This Contract position will support merchandising programs across national and regional initiatives while coordinating closely with vendors, marketing partners, and internal retail teams. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing product data accuracy, store communication, and executional follow-through in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities: Support category-based merchandising launches by coordinating product introductions, rollout activities, and store presentation readiness. Investigate and resolve store-level discrepancies involving orders, deliveries, receipts, and related documentation in partnership with category leaders and vendor contacts. Prepare and process purchase orders for direct vendor programs with close attention to accuracy and timing. Assist visual merchandising efforts by placing and monitoring vendor-specific fixture and display-related orders. Work with suppliers to collect images, samples, and product content needed for promotional and marketing campaigns. Review marketing materials for accuracy and completeness before release to stores or customers. Use reporting tools and Excel-based analysis to support weekly and monthly category performance tracking, and coordinate logistics and materials for annual vendor show planning.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
