About the role
A couple at the peak of remarkable careers (clean energy, new technology) seek a nanny / coordinator to care for their two children, 6 and 4. The job is onsite and a combination of direct childcare and administrative support to ensure they are extremely well taken care of in keeping with the established settings, structures and values. Applicants should demonstrate traditional nanny skills in conjunction with the type of administrative and organizational capacities of an administrative strategist. They should instinctively be able to fit each aspect of the children’s lives into the big picture of the family, school and community. They should be attuned, related, and always know how to pay attention to what matters. Which to assume full ownership for every element of the children’s worlds. This is a long-term position with a minimum 7-year commitment if the match is right. The family is positive, practical, and invests in the people who work for them. It’s a great place to work. The expectation is that you, and your role, will grow along with them.
Requirements:
BA/BS from competitive US college Minimum 3 years’ dedicated experience with children (education sector preferred but not required)MS Office, Google Workspace, tech troubleshooting Academic aptitude and interest Experience in UHNW environments True organizational capacity: for things, spaces, yourself, and time-management Very strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent time management Proactive working style Demonstrated strong research skills Interpersonal flexibility and genuine warmth The ability to interpret feelings Being able to think clearly during emergencies Valid driver’s license Minimum intermediate swimming level ability An appreciation of the importance of fitness Excellent manners
Responsibilities:
Bring children to/from school, activities, appointments, playdates Full ownership of children’s schedules Ongoing, consistent communication with both parents including weekly meeting with father Providing meals and snacks School communications and follow-up Plan activities for upcoming school holidays Manage transportation Coordinate medical appointments Maintain inventory of clothes, toiletries, school supplies Birthday party planning and gift coordination Closet organization and seasonal clothing rotation Larger organization projects Research classes, camps, seasonal activities Notice and communicate concerns, problems and observationsM-F 8:30am-6pm (summertime weeknights upstate)$120K+/year + monthly healthcare stipend
