About the Role: Our client seeks a talented and experienced Lead Lighting Technician to oversee all aspects of lighting design and execution for various productions in George. You will lead a team of technicians, ensuring the flawless implementation of lighting schemes that enhance visual storytelling and artistic expression. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the lighting crew, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow. Interpret lighting plots and design specifications to set up, operate, and maintain lighting equipment. Develop and implement creative lighting designs that meet project artistic and technical requirements. Perform regular maintenance and repairs on all lighting fixtures and control systems. Collaborate with directors of photography and art directors to achieve the desired visual look. Ensure all lighting operations comply with safety regulations and best practices.
Requirements: Proven experience as a Lighting Technician or Gaffer in a lead role. In-depth knowledge of various lighting fixtures, control consoles (e.g., GrandMA, ETC), and rigging techniques. Strong understanding of cinematography and visual composition. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and lighting plots. Experience managing a technical team and coordinating schedules. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adherence to industry standards.
