About the role

Some restaurants hire managers. We're looking for a builder. Good Boy is a new fast-casual concept opening in San Luis Obispo, inspired by a location that has been part of the community since 1977. Our mission is simple: deliver fast-food speed with full-service hospitality while creating a place that people genuinely love to visit. We're searching for someone who understands that exceptional operations don't happen by accident. They happen through systems, consistency, accountability, and great leadership. Experience with brands known for operational excellence, such as In-N-Out Burger or similar high-volume concepts, like: Shake Shack, Raising Cane's, Chick-fil-A, Culver's, Whataburger, Dutch Bros, Starbucks, or Hillstone is highly valued. If you've helped lead teams where speed, quality, cleanliness, and hospitality were non-negotiable, we'd love to talk with you. This role is about far more than running shifts. You'll help build our culture, hire and develop our founding team, establish operational standards, coach future leaders, and shape the guest experience from the very first day we open our doors. The right candidate is: A servant leader who enjoys developing people. Obsessed with operational excellence and execution. Calm under pressure and thrives in high-volume environments. Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Excited by the opportunity to build something from the ground up. If you're looking for "just another restaurant job," this probably isn't it. If you're excited by the opportunity to help create something special, something our community will be proud of for years to come, we'd love to hear from you.📍 Store Manager – Good Boy San Luis Obispo, California Please send your resume and a brief introduction to info@goodboyinslo.com. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
