About the role

Our Client, a Japanese Freight Forwarder is looking for an Sales Manager.
Industry: Freight Forwarder Position: Sales Manager - Business Development
Location: New York / New Jersey / Northeast Region
Salary: 100-150 base + Incentive +

Key Responsibilities: Develop and acquire new non-Japanese customers across the Northeast region. Drive new business in air freight, with a strong focus on JFK air export, warehouse operations, domestic transportation, ocean freight, customs brokerage, and related services. Build relationships with logistics, supply chain, procurement, and senior-level decision makers. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and customer visits through proposals, negotiations, and implementation. Develop and manage a qualified sales pipeline and identify cross-selling opportunities. Work closely with air export, warehouse, pricing, transportation, and other internal teams to develop profitable logistics solutions. Maintain and expand existing customer relationships and coordinate opportunities with other U.S. branches and overseas affiliates. Prepare sales plans, forecasts, and pipeline reports and monitor market and competitive trends.
Qualifications: Extensive sales/business development experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or supply chain services. Proven track record of developing new customer accounts and managing complex sales opportunities. Strong knowledge of air freight, particularly air export forwarding and airport/gateway operations. Working knowledge of warehousing, domestic transportation, customs brokerage, ocean freight, and integrated logistics solutions. Established business network in the NY/NJ and Northeast region strongly preferred. Experience working with non-Japanese-owned customers preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.++++ Only qualified candidate will be contacted.
