Job Description: Marine Seat Designer / Solid Works
Location: Fort Worth, Texas Department: Engineering Reports to: Engineering Project Manager Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Llebroc is a leading manufacturer of premium marine seating. We are seeking a Marine Seat Designer / Solid Works Engineer to support product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement. This role will design marine seating and soft goods, maintain accurate engineering documentation, and collaborate with customers, production, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities: · Design helm chairs, cushions, upholstery components, and related seat structures for recreational boats.· Use OEM 3D models and STEP files to develop surfaces, cushion shapes, substrates, foam, vinyl covers, and supporting structures.· Design and modify plastic and aluminum frames to ensure proper fit, function, durability, and manufacturability.· Create and maintain Solid Works models, production drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), cut files, revisions, and production notes.· Manage engineering changes, redlines, file revisions, and technical documentation.· Ensure CAD files, ERP data, drawings, BOMs, and production information remain accurate and consistent.· Collaborate with boat builders, production supervisors, upholstery teams, purchasing, and other departments.· Troubleshoot design, fitment, quality, and manufacturing issues.· Investigate warranty and quality concerns and recommend design improvements.· Support new product development, process improvements, and engineering workflow initiatives.· Identify opportunities to improve CAD, drawing, documentation, and manufacturing processes.· Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications: · Strong Solid Works experience is required.· Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent design/manufacturing experience preferred.· Experience in a manufacturing environment required; upholstery or marine-industry experience is a strong plus.· Working knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, product revisions, and manufacturing processes.· Experience with ERP systems and engineering change management.· Experience with AutoCAD, Exact Flat, Gemini, CNC cutting software, or similar tools is a plus.· Strong 3D modeling, visualization, and problem-solving skills.· Ability to interpret OEM models and translate designs into manufacturable products.· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.· Effective written and verbal communication skills.· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.· Collaborative, adaptable, and willing to learn new products and processes.· Ability to work in an office, warehouse, and production-floor environment.
