Role Description: The Senior Finance Manager is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing key financial operations that support Spring Branch ISD’s strategic and educational objectives. This position manages budgeting processes, monitors expenditures, and prepares financial reports and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders. The Senior Finance Manager reviews and refines financial controls, ensures compliance with relevant regulations and district policies, and supports audit activities. The role involves partnering with school and central office leaders to provide financial guidance, analyze funding scenarios, and support long-term financial planning. The Senior Finance Manager also contributes to process improvements, documentation, and the implementation of financial best practices in a K–12 public education environment.
Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in complex organizations. Strong skills in financial analysis and modeling, with proficiency in spreadsheet tools and financial software. Knowledge of governmental or public sector accounting standards; experience with school district or education finance is highly beneficial. Ability to interpret and apply financial policies, state and federal regulations, and compliance requirements. Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and leadership. Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with attention to detail. Track record of process improvement, including developing or refining financial procedures and internal controls. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and maintaining a high level of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.
