About the role

Founded in Paris in 1994 by Prosper and Martine Assouline, Assouline is a luxury lifestyle brand dedicated to the curation of culture and the art of living. Through its crafted books, library objects, and home fragrances, Assouline invites the intellectual and curious into a world of beauty. Thirty years on, the library holds more than 2,000 titles, shared through boutiques around the world. Every Assouline book begins with a story worth telling. We are looking for a Content Strategist to help us tell those stories where more and more of our readers now discover them: on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. This is a role for a social-native creative with taste. You will turn our launches, campaigns, books, objects, events, and editorial stories into ideas made for each platform, then help bring them to life by capturing and prototyping content yourself, feeding shoots, and briefing external creators. Working alongside the Social Media Manager and our Image & Creative Studio, you will help shape a social language that is recognizably ours: culturally rich, visually refined, sometimes witty or unexpected, and always rooted in the house.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Translate Maison priorities into social-first content ideas, formats, angles, and storylines across books, culture, travel, design, interiors, art, hospitality, objects, people, and places. Help build a recognizable Assouline social signature across platforms, including tone, caption rhythm, pacing, visual gestures, and cultural references. Define social content needs for seasonal launches, campaigns, collaborations, events, and Maison moments, preparing shot lists, hooks, and vertical video requirements before production. Capture, edit, and prototype lightweight content for fast-turnaround formats, and write the scripts, captions, storyboards, and mockups that make ideas executable. Develop platform-native formats and recurring series for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. Monitor platform behaviors, creator formats, and cultural conversations, and identify which trends can be translated into Assouline's language and which should be left alone. Identify and brief external creators, editors, videographers, and motion designers, ensuring each partner understands the house's visual standards and level of discretion. Partner with the Social Media Manager and Community Coordinator to learn from performance, recommending what to repeat, refine, test further, or stop.
QUALIFICATIONS: Four or more years of experience in social content strategy, content creation, creative production, or brand content Experience in luxury, fashion, beauty, design, hospitality, culture, publishing, or media preferred Deep, native knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and LinkedInStrong writing instincts for hooks, captions, scripts, and creator briefs A sharp visual eye for image, motion, pacing, cropping, and composition Comfortable with mobile capture, light editing, and short-form prototyping Familiarity with CapCut, Premiere, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or Figma a plusYOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU ARECulturally curious: you follow how culture, luxury brands, creators, and platforms evolve, and you know the difference between what is meaningful and what is simply viral. A natural creator: you move from idea to execution quickly, and you are as comfortable picking up a phone to capture a moment as you are writing the brief. Discerning: you are brave enough to propose the unexpected, and disciplined enough to know what is not right for the Maison. Organized: you manage several launches, shoots, and creators at once without losing creative sharpness. This role is on-site 5 days a week.
Compensation: $80,000-$85,000 Assouline is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
