The Aftermarket Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable aftermarket growth, expanding market share, and developing new business opportunities for Marmon-Herrington within the heavy-duty transportation industry. This role leads strategic initiatives focused on market analysis, business development, customer engagement, and sales growth while working cross-functionally to align customer needs with product and commercial strategies. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with market insight to identify opportunities, recover lost business, strengthen customer relationships, and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities: Growth Strategy & Market Development Develop and execute strategies to increase aftermarket sales, profitability, and market share. Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities. Evaluate lost business and implement plans to regain market position. Identify and develop opportunities in adjacent product, drivetrain, powertrain, and specialty vehicle markets. Build business cases and growth plans for new products, customers, channels, and market segments. Sales & Customer Leadership Develop annual sales plans, forecasts, and growth objectives. Manage key customer relationships including fleets, OEMs, distributors, dealers, and service organizations. Lead customer engagement activities to improve retention, satisfaction, and revenue growth. Support contract negotiations and major commercial initiatives. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings. Product & Commercial Strategy Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, and Operations to align products and services with market needs. Identify product improvement and new product opportunities based on customer and market feedback. Support pricing, distribution, and promotional strategies that improve competitive position and profitability. Partner with Marketing on customer engagement, product launches, and growth campaigns. Business Performance Monitor and report key performance indicators including revenue, margin, market share, customer retention, and new business wins. Provide regular business reviews and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments.
Qualifications: Education Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field. MBA preferred. Experience 7+ years of experience in sales, business development, product management, or aftermarket operations. Experience in Class 8 trucks, heavy-duty transportation, powertrain, drivetrain, axle, transmission, transfer case, or specialty vehicle markets strongly preferred. Proven track record of growing revenue, market share, and customer relationships. Strong understanding of OEM and aftermarket distribution channels.
