Job Description: Account Manager - Sales Classification: Exempt Bonus Eligible: No / Commission Based Summary: The Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing existing customer accounts while developing new business opportunities within the manufacturing and ingredients sector. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring strong relationships, timely communication, and exceptional service. The Sales Account Manager collaborates closely with Operations, R&D, and Finance to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and align with company goals for profitability and growth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts, providing ongoing support and proactive service. * Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and challenges. * Serve as the main liaison between customers and internal departments (production, quality, logistics, and finance). * Conduct regular check-ins and business reviews with customers to ensure satisfaction and retention. * Handle pricing updates, order status, and product inquiries in a professional and timely manner. * Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target markets. * Prepare and deliver sales presentations, product proposals, and pricing quotes. * Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve company sales and margin goals. * Collaborate with R&D to support new product development and custom formulations based on customer needs. * Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective accounts and follow up to close deals. * Achieve assigned sales targets, revenue goals, and account objectives. * Analyze customer sales data, trends, and market conditions to support strategic decision-making. * Provide regular sales forecasts and activity reports to management. * Participate in trade shows, customer visits, and industry events to promote company products and brand visibility. * Work with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure accurate order fulfillment and delivery schedules. * Partner with Finance and Accounting to monitor credit limits, collections, and payment terms. * Support Marketing in developing customer-specific materials, promotions, and campaigns.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related field preferred. * 3-5 years of experience in sales or account management, ideally in the manufacturing, food, or ingredients industry. * Proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. * Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail. * Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite. * Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients or attend industry events (up to 25-40%).
