About the role

TruFit is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer with a strong background in Digital Product Definition (DPD), Model-Based Definition (MBD), GD&T, and Coordinate Measurement Systems (CMS). This is a senior-level position supporting Quality, Engineering, and Estimating teams in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience interpreting digital product data, evaluating inspection requirements, creating and verifying inspection programs, and mentoring/training others in CMS and GD&T.Compensation$95,000–$120,000/year DOEExempt position, Direct Hire position
Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Location: King County, WAResponsibilitiesProvide technical guidance and mentoring to CMS inspection personnel and support inspection processes. Review customer digital product definition/model-based definition data and other source data for requirements and conformance. Review and approve drawings, models, and other technical media as needed. Provide training and mentoring in GD&T and CMS inspection principles. Create, evaluate, and verify CMS inspection programs and inspection techniques. Review current models against internal drawings to confirm conformance with design requirements. Evaluate part models to determine appropriate inspection methods, techniques, and plans, particularly for First Article Inspection (FAI) parts. Create and evaluate derivatives from native CAD datasets. Support the Estimating Team by evaluating design data for inspection and testing requirements during the quoting process. Assist with FAI activities as needed. Assist Engineering with the design of inspection fixtures and other tools used in inspection processes. Support company quality-system procedures and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements: 10+ years of relevant experience in quality, inspection, engineering, or a related technical discipline. Strong knowledge and practical experience with DPD/MBD requirements. Strong knowledge of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5.Proficiency with CMS equipment, inspection techniques, and inspection programming. Experience creating, evaluating, and working with CAD models and derivatives. Experience interpreting engineering drawings, 3D models, and other technical source data. Experience working with CATIA files or similar CAD data. Knowledge of digital product definition/model-based definition data processing and formats. Ability to provide effective technical training and mentoring to inspection and manufacturing personnel. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Highly detail-oriented and thorough. Understanding of drawing/model revision and approval processes. Education through college, vocational training, professional certification, or equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Physical Requirements: Primarily seated work with occasional stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, and repetitive motion. Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Color vision and depth perception required. Work environment may include exposure to moderate noise, dust, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Required PPE must be worn in designated areas.
