Role Description:
The Marine Technician is a full-time mobile electronics and electrical position. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting boats, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and navigation and entertainment electronics installation. The role involves troubleshooting electrical wiring, installing or upgrading marine components, and ensuring all work meets safety and industry standards. The Marine Technician will maintain detailed service records, communicate clearly with customers and team members about findings and recommendations, and support yard operations as needed. Occasional coordination of parts orders, scheduling, and technical documentation may be completed remotely.
Qualifications:
Strong experience with boats and marine environments, including familiarity with vessel systems and general boat operations. Proficiency in maintenance and repair of marine equipment, with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues. Knowledge of electrical wiring in marine applications, including safe installation, repair, and testing of onboard electrical systems. Background in Navy or other marine service environments is beneficial, demonstrating discipline, safety awareness, and technical aptitude. Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins; strong problem-solving and attention to detail. Good communication skills and customer service orientation, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language. Capacity to work safely in a yard and dock environment, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces when required. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; relevant marine technician certifications or vocational training are a plus.
