Description Position Summary
The Baker is responsible for preparing and producing a variety of fresh, scratch-made breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods for Wasatch Peaks Ranch's restaurants and food & beverage outlets. This position works closely with the Lead Baker and culinary team to ensure products are prepared consistently, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking, takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys working in a team-oriented, high-quality hospitality environment.
Qualifications Essential Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of breads, rolls, sandwich buns, pastries, desserts, and specialty baked goods.
Follow established recipes, production procedures, and quality standards.
Assist with mixing, shaping, proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing bakery products.
Prepare daily bakery production according to established schedules and outlet needs.
Assist with production for the Market, Tavern, Oaks Lodge, Range House, and other food & beverage locations as needed.
Prepare specialty bakery items for member events, private functions, tournaments, and special requests.
Maintain consistency in product quality, appearance, portion size, and presentation.
Properly store, label, date, and rotate ingredients and finished products.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bakery and work area.
Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing bakery ingredients and supplies.
Monitor product levels and communicate inventory or production needs to the Lead Baker.
Help minimize waste through proper production, storage, and ingredient handling.
Assist with recipe testing and development of new bakery products.
Work efficiently to complete daily production within scheduled hours.
Support other areas of the culinary operation when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Baker or culinary leadership.
Qualifications:
Previous professional baking experience preferred; culinary or baking education is a plus.
Knowledge of basic baking techniques, including mixing, scaling, proofing, shaping, and baking.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to follow recipes and production instructions accurately.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry bakery ingredients and equipment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with scratch-made artisan breads.
Experience with pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts.
Experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, or private club
Obtain a Utah Food Handlers Permit
