Essential duties and responsibilities: Assists in guiding work to ensure that pickup and delivery schedules are met. Assumes dock area responsibilities in the absence of the Assistant Manager. Assists in training and evaluation of dock personnel Responsible for housekeeping of dock area, truck wells, and removal of trash. Monitors trash compactor. Drives a 53 ft semi or box truck when needed. Monitors metal salvage. Adheres to all policies and procedures, maintains a good attendance record. _________________________________________________________________________________________Benefits? High school diploma/GED required Valid Michigan Commercial driver's license with the endorsements required to drive a 53ft semi and box truck. Clean driving record and ability to pass a Clearinghouse License reference check. Logistics experience is preferred; management experience required Knowledge and experience with unions preferred Computer competencies, including MS Word and Excel, and a strong emphasis on safety are required.
