Base Pay: $50,000 AnnuallyGENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:Position Summary: The Behavior Technician will provide in-person Brief Support Implementation Services to ensure behavior plan implementation by providing ongoing assistance, modeling, support, data analysis, and training to the individual's team in natural environments. The BT will be working with adults with IDD.Primary Job Functions: Provide in person Brief Support Implementation Services (BSIS) to individuals receiving Behavior Support Services in Community Development Services, Residential Services, Personal Supports, Shared Living Supports and other relevant environments at the frequency needed. Provide ongoing assistance, modeling, support, and training to the individual and the individual's team members. Participate in Person Centered Plan meetings. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all necessary stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure continuity of care. Assist in goal development of individually directed, outcome-oriented skill building. Assist in the implementation of fade plans for restrictive practices. Develop individualized data collection methods. Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper training of behavior plans and effective data collection. Collaborate with other departments for crisis intervention with immediate support and follow up to both staff and the person, unless deemed clinically procedural integrity of behavior plan with collaboration with the person's team regarding communication and assistive technology. Utilize the client electronic record effectively. Complete electronic clinical notes/billing weekly. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Experience and Education:
  • Completion of the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician coursework, with certificate of completion, required.
  • Current certification, in good standing, as a Registered Behavior Technician preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma and 1 year+ working in Human Services. Preferred associate's degree in psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, Social Work, or another related human service field.
  • Former crisis intervention/management education strongly preferred.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Must have at least 2 years driving experience
  • Access to reliable transportation; Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record, with no more than 3 points.
  • Competencies required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, in particular Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Must have satisfactory background checks.
Working Conditions: Ability to travel daily within the 2 counties (Baltimore, Harford, Howard or Carroll) to complete site visits. Counties assigned to be discussed based on need. Some evenings are required, with ability to meet weekend needs once monthly preferred. Must be able to perform all physical management techniques. Ability to handle physical aspects of a job, including sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, manipulating objects or controls, kneel, stoop, crawl, and walking for periods of time. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
