AI Principal Engineer - Clinical Data Analytics

Overview In this role, you will lead the development and scaling of data engineering and AI capabilities for the Development organization. You partner with Data Science and Statistics to harmonize data across domains and deliver actionable analytics and AI, including Generative AI. You own data architecture, governance, and cloud-native patterns to support analytics and AI in a regulated setting. You combine deep technical expertise with governance discipline to enable responsible data and AI work. You will drive impact by shaping data products, platforms, and trust across the organization. Compensation / Benefits 401k with company contributionscomprehensive medical/dental/visionlife and disability insuranceflexible spending accountsdiscretionary annual bonusstock purchase program / long-term incentives Responsibilities Develop production AI/ML and Generative AI solutions with lifecycle management Partner with business leaders to scope and deliver high-impact analytics and AI use cases Lead MLOps/LLMOps practices for model deployment, prompt/version management, monitoring, and governance Standardize reusable data models, semantic layers, and APIs for downstream analytics and AITranslate business questions into data/analytics solutions as a trusted advisor Enable data-driven decision-making via harmonized metrics and insights frameworks Explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive governance for AI usage Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Security to meet regulatory and ethical standards Design and evolve modern data architectures (data warehouses, data lakes, pipelines)Ensure scalable, reliable data platforms in partnership with Infra/IT teams Evaluate and optimize data management, analytics, and AI technologies Perform other duties as assigned Key requirements Advanced experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake and lakehouse governance Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL; working knowledge of RExperience leading data acquisition, analytics, and AI capabilities across clinical domains Knowledge of Delta Lake, data modeling best practices, and Delta Lakehouse architecture Knowledge of Metadata Management and Data Lineage Tracking in Unity Catalog Experience with Enterprise Data Governance Methodologies and Data Cataloging Tools (e.g., Atlan, Colibra, Reltio)Advanced skills in BI platforms (Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI)Advanced expertise in SaaS AWS Cloud Infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, Glue, Redshift)Experience with CI/CD tooling and version control in data pipelines Knowledge of data modeling, warehouse infrastructure, Dev Ops and data governance Experience with handling classified sensitive data in regulated environments (GxP)Knowledge of Databricks maintenance and monitoring strategies Industry experience in pharmaceutical/CRO domains related to Clinical Data Strategy and Insights Strong interpersonal, influencing, presentation, written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skillsstrong communicationinfluencing and collaborationanalytical thinking Databricks Unity Catalog Delta Lake
