Lead Sheet Metal Fabricator - HVAC Location: Gaithersburg MD Employment Type: Full-Time About Us We are a well-established HVAC contractor specializing in commercial HVAC work. We take pride in high-quality fabrication, precise installation, and a team-first culture.
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Lead Sheet Metal Fabricator to take over and oversee shop fabrication operations, ensure quality control, and support field teams with accurate, timely production. This role is for a fabricator who can lay out and fabricate ductwork and oversee a small shop crew.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Run the sheet metal shop and oversee all fabrication
  • Fabricate rectangular and specialty ductwork
  • Handle layout, measuring, and quality control
  • Manage workflow, material orders, and shop organization
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and shop safety standards
  • Coordinate with project managers and field foremen to meet production schedules
  • Prepare and coordinate daily deliveries
  • Track materials, inventory, and job-specific fabrication requirements
  • Receive and track material orders and deliveries Qualifications
  • 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience
  • Strong knowledge of SMACNA standards and fabrication best practices
  • Proficiency with brakes, shears, plasma tables, and hand tools
  • Strong layout and measurement skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
