About the role

A well-established private practice group of 13 pathologist and 2 pathologists' assistants and a Gross tech in Peoria, Illinois with approximately 30,000 surgical specimens annually has an immediate opening for one additional pathologists' assistant. The successful candidate will be exam eligible or certified and have the ability to handle large and complex surgical pathology specimens (and to perform post-mortem examinations). Proficiency in computer use including voice recognition and laboratory information system software, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Peoria is a mid-sized city that is conveniently located less than 3 hours from Chicago, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. It serves as the manufacturing headquarters for Caterpillar Inc. and is the home of Bradley University. There are a number of excellent public and private schools as well as abundant recreational activities including the Peoria Symphony, Peoria Broadway Series, the Peoria Chiefs (minor league baseball team), and the Peoria Rivermen (minor league hockey).
