Support safe, efficient operations across the Chesapeake soy crushing facility by performing essential housekeeping and general labor duties throughout the plant. As a Laborer (Soy Crushing), you will maintain work areas, operate and perform routine maintenance on housekeeping equipment, and complete assigned tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures and supervisor direction. This role contributes to reliable plant operations by keeping production and maintenance areas clean, orderly, and ready for use. This position is well suited for a dependable, safety-conscious candidate who works effectively with others, follows established procedures, and takes accountability for completing hands-on work.
Schedule: Established shift as scheduled by management. Hours and days of work may be increased or decreased as required by operations and management. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be scheduled as needed and approved by management. This position has a base rate of $28.48 per hour. Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Perform routine housekeeping duties in accordance with standard operating procedures. Operate housekeeping equipment, including mowing, trimming, and sweeping equipment. Perform routine operator maintenance on housekeeping equipment. Complete other routine housekeeping activities, including painting, dusting, and shoveling. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Make routine decisions within the scope of job responsibilities and refer all other decisions to the supervisor. Minimum Education and Experience 0-1 year of experience. Valid driver's license. Transportation Worker Identification Credential application.
Preferred Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors: Move freely throughout AgriBusiness facilities, including climbing vertical heights of 0-150 feet. Carry tools and equipment weighing 0-50 pounds. Work in temperatures ranging from 0-100 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity ranging from 0-100%, and noise levels ranging from 50-100 decibels.
