Quality Technician - Cellulose Ensures day to day quality in the Montgomery facility of Cellulose product, ensure correct measurement and disqualification criteria, make sure the product meets quality expectation and initiate quality improvement. Daily check the information in OSP from ATL, Water Tester and FKM from previous day. Review all records and check if all was done according to the procedures, using correct frequency and specification. Verify if incidents were solved properly and review with ATL, Water Tester or FKM operator if there are any possible error or doubts. Daily visual inspection of the product on each machine in any shift. Review material in hold, including low-quality records and partner with the Quality Manager to implement the appropriate action. Responsible for organizing any inspection of Cellulose casing with quality issue(s). Responsible for the general upkeep and re-order of Quality devices in his/her area. Manages and coordinates resolutions for Cellulose claims and related analyses in a timely manner. Synthesizes data from Cellulose claims, providing identification of possible root cause(s). Partners interdepartmentally with key stakeholders to implement preventative and corrective actions related to quality initiatives. Responsible for entering claim related findings and resulting corrective actions into NAVISION. Analyzing Quality data, tendencies. Weekly and Monthly Reports required by Quality Manager. Develops and presents respective Claims Presentation for their responsible product family. Responsible for the Cellulose additives room general upkeep, and inventory. Responsible for coordinating and issuing schedule for respective area. Provides staffing coverage within department as needed or requested by the Quality Manager. Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager. Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required, in some engineering fields, such as industrial engineering, chemical engineering, etc. 2 years of experience in Quality areas, with knowledge of quality inspection and quality rejections. Basic management in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point). Basic knowledge of lab equipment and methods, basic knowledge of ISO system. Bilingual (English and Spanish) required (oral and written fluency). Strong communication skills. Ability to find root cause of problem, Analytical abilities. Strong control of the process, good organization, and growth mindset. Communication, Adaptability, Problem Solving, Teamwork. Within the production facility the environment is controlled. There are times that require inside and outside working so ups and downs in temperature are normal. Must follow all safety regulations at all facilities and wear all proper safety equipment. Steel toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and goggles are required in certain areas of the plant. The facility is also a BRC food and food packaging facility so all requirements of the BRC must be followed. Must be able to spend a considerable amount of time working on the production floor among a variety of different machines/chemical and physical laboratory. Work on feet for long periods of time. Some lifting required. Must be aware of your surroundings at all times. Must be willing to work in wet environments doing testing when necessary.4 Cellulose ATLs, 1 Consolidation ATL and 3 Cellulose Water Testers. This position is classified as Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is compensated on a salaried basis. The role meets the criteria for the Administrative Exemption, as it requires consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters related to food safety, regulatory compliance and quality systems.
