The Velvet Collar is launching a premium mobile grooming service for Newtown, Washington Crossing, New Hope, and nearby Bucks County neighborhoods. We’re building a brand centered on quality, professionalism, and an exceptional client experience, and we’re hiring a Lead Groomer to join us at the outset. This is a hands-on leadership role for a skilled groomer who wants independence, consistent routes, and the opportunity to grow with a local business.
As Lead Groomer you will work independently in a well-equipped, modern grooming van and be responsible for delivering top-tier grooms while cultivating client relationships. You’ll represent The Velvet Collar in clients’ driveways, so presentation, courtesy, and excellent communication are critical. Beyond excellent technical skills, we want someone who is personable, dependable, and invested in pet and client care.
Key Duties:
Provide complete grooming services across a variety of breeds and coat types; bathing, drying, clipping, scissoring, and finishing.
Create individualized grooming plans and recommend add-on services appropriate to each pet.
Deliver a seamless, professional client experience that encourages repeat bookings and referrals.
Keep the mobile salon clean, safe, and fully stocked; maintain equipment and supplies.
Help define operational standards and support the hiring and training of future grooming staff.
We’re looking for a groomer with strong technical ability, excellent customer service skills, and the confidence to work solo. A valid driver’s license and clean driving history are required; experience driving a grooming van is helpful but not mandatory.
