Hayden is a small agency, and our officers aregeneralists — not just report takers .You’ll respond to calls, conduct criminal investigations, collect evidence, prepare warrants, work with prosecutors, testify in court, and maintain ownership of your cases from initial response through final disposition. Our officers handle: Patrol and calls for service Criminal investigations and follow-upTraffic enforcement and crash investigations Evidence collection and processing Arrests, citations, summonses, and warrants Case preparation and coordination with prosecutors Community policing and problem-solving Regional and specialized assignments as opportunities arise The position is designed for officers who can exercise good judgment, take initiative, work independently, and take ownership of their work. Applicants must have: At leastone year of sworn law enforcement experience as a solo patrol officer Colorado POST certification, or current certification from another state with the ability to obtain Colorado Provisional Certification before appointment High school diploma or GED; college education preferred Valid driver's license Strong judgment, integrity, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently We're particularly interested in officers who don't need to be told what to do next — people who see a problem, take ownership of it, and get the job done.
