About Us:
Community Broadband Networks (CBN) is a Broadband Construction and Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) dedicated to expanding affordable, high-speed internet to underserved communities. As we grow our broadband construction projects, we are seeking an Assistant Bookkeeper, especially with a focus in Construction or Project-Based industry Bookkeeping to support financial tracking, payroll processing, job costing, and reporting tied to active field operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Help manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Assist with the processing of vendor and subcontractor invoices Verify purchase orders, delivery tickets, W-9s, COIs, and payment documentation Prepare customer invoices, progress billings, and change order billing Track AR/AP aging and follow up on outstanding payments Maintain job costing, budgets, cost codes, and project expenses Track labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project costs Support prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts Assist with monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting Monitor project profitability, budgets, and cost variances Prepare weekly cash flow reports and assist with forecasting Maintain subcontractor contracts, insurance, licenses, and compliance documents Assist with year-end 1099s, tax preparation, and CPA requests Maintain organized accounting and project records Work with Project Managers and management to ensure accurate job costing and billing Improve accounting processes and maintain accurate records in Quick Books, google sheets and/or excel sheets Qualifications 1+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience Construction accounting experience preferred Experience with AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting Strong Excel and accounting software skills Experience with job costing preferred Knowledge of prevailing wage/certified payroll is a plus Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
