About the role
THE ORGANIZATION:
American Friends of Magen David Adom (“AFMDA”) is the U.S. fundraising organization supporting Magen David Adom (“MDA”), Israel’s national emergency medical, ambulance, disaster-response, and blood-services organization and its representative to the International Red Cross movement. Founded in 1940, AFMDA mobilizes philanthropic support to help ensure MDA has the resources necessary to provide lifesaving care to people throughout Israel, regardless of background or religion. Donor support helps fund emergency vehicles, medical equipment and supplies, EMT and paramedic training, blood services, emergency medical stations and facilities, advanced dispatch systems, and other critical needs. Philanthropic support, including significant funding from donors in the United States, plays an important role in strengthening MDA’s emergency-response capabilities and supporting major equipment, infrastructure, technology, and other critical initiatives. AFMDA serves as a vital partner in helping ensure MDA’s medical professionals and volunteers have the training, technology, equipment, and infrastructure necessary to respond to emergencies throughout Israel. AFMDA is a major national Jewish nonprofit fundraising organization, raising approximately $100 million annually in recent years through a sophisticated nationwide fundraising program. Its scale and fundraising activities create a complex financial environment involving donor-restricted and unrestricted contributions, major capital initiatives, planned gifts, investment assets, pledges and other receivables, grants and funding commitments, and coordination between fundraising and financial systems. Strong donor stewardship, internal controls, accurate financial reporting, and responsible management of philanthropic resources are therefore essential.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
