Our client is a global, award winning Retailer who has recently moved in to the US market. This is a new role to join a startup division for the business, with the opportunity to be one of the first 10 employees within their Product division, instrumental in helping to establish the product quality & safety processes, systems, and strategy.
Department:
The Technical/Quality department is responsible for product quality, performance, product specification, social responsibility and sustainable sourcing ensuring that product performs to standards and its country of operations legal legislation.
Role Purpose:
The Product Technologist team are responsible for developing, influencing and delivering quality, compliance, sustainability and ethical standards & processes for product category in question. Working closely with buying, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the company delivers the right Quality/Price balance.
Requirements:
Expert in the field of safety & legislation, risk analysis and prevention and product technical development within specialized industry (toys / electronics / cosmetics and formulation / food contact etc.).Excellent communication skills within technical function, buying, supply base and global offices and ability to work as a team player showing respect, support and discipline Commitment and history of putting the customer first and central to everything they do Multi tasked orientated working to tight deadlines where necessary while maintaining entrepreneurialism Able to analyse data (KPI’s, customer feedback, sales) to shape future strategy Be able to work across multiple countries with relevant stakeholders Ability to work across multiple sourcing models (import, private label, direct).Able to manage forward thinking for newness and project delivery Commutable to Charlotte NC 4 days per week or flexible to relocate there Current right to work in the US essential
