About the role

EHW Partners is working with a leading global energy and commodities trading firm to hire aGenAI Engineerin Houston who will build agentic workflows, AI skills, MCPs, and LLM-powered automation tools across trading, operations, and commercial functions. This is a highly collaborative, build-first engineering role. The successful candidate will work directly with end users and internal stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions, and deploy practical AI products that create real commercial value.
The ideal candidate will have: 3–5 years of experience in software, data, or AI engineering Strong Python skills and solid software-engineering fundamentals Experience building with LLM APIs, prompting, tool calling, function calling, agentic workflows, or MCP Familiarity with full-stack development, Git, Docker, and cloud platforms Strong product judgment and the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into working tools Clear communication skills and comfort working closely with non-technical end users A builder mindset, with evidence of shipped products or side projects Curiosity about commodities markets, energy, global trade, and the commercial dynamics of trading This is a high-ownership opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working closely with end users, moving quickly from idea to production, and applying frontier AI capabilities to real-world problems in energy and commodities.
