Job Description: Provides customer service in person, via phone, or email; processes and receives payments; calculates charges. Obtains and records customer information in system. Provides customer service by answering question and addressing concerns, in person, on the phone, or via email. Performs related work as required.
COMPETENCIES: FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIESKnowledge of:
Knowledge of arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).Knowledge of handling cash in excess of 10,000 on a daily basis. Knowledge of balancing a cash drawer. Knowledge of handling office equipment to include a 10-key calculator, scanner, money counter and copier. Knowledge of general office procedures and methods including computing skills and data entry skill set. Knowledge of City Ordinances.

  • Skill in cash handling of cash, coins, checks, debit/credit cards with a high level of accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency. At least one (1) year of experience in bank telling, payment processing, cash handling, or customer service. At least two (2) years of cash handling experience of collections in excess of $10,000 per day. Foreign Education: Applicants who have completed education outside of the United States must submit a foreign credential evaluation completed by a professional credential evaluation agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). The evaluation must verify the U.S. equivalency of the degree and identify the comparable U.S. degree level. Applicants are responsible for obtaining and submitting the required evaluation documentation.
Note: The City of Laredo is not responsible for any fees associated with obtaining a foreign credential evaluation or educational equivalency documentation. Valid Licenses and Certifications Required Licenses or Certifications Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment. As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
