OverviewAn IC Design Engineer is needed by the Microcircuit Emulation Center at SRI International (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) in Princeton, NJ to support the manufacturing of microcircuits (integrated circuits). Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program, the Microcircuit Emulation Center (MEC) supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system.Check out our work! ResponsibilitiesDesign, simulation and verification of analog circuitsReview specifications and requirements to determine appropriate design to emulate the original partDesign and verification of analog circuits, including OpAmps, Comparators and RegulatorsSupport layout engineers with the layout of macro cells and ensure correct post-layout functionalityWork with test engineers to develop characterization and qualification testsQualificationsBS Electrical Engineering with 8+ years designing analog or mixed signal circuits;OR Masters EE with thesis and 6 years designing analog or mixed signal circuitsUS Citizenship or Permanent Residency requiredMust be able to work on site at SRI office in Princeton, NJDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writingDesired experience: Breadth of analog design knowledge is essential as part designs cover a wide range of product typesDesigning with (5V to 40V) Bipolar, BiCMOS, and CMOS processesDesigning Amplifiers, Comparators, and/or RegulatorsPerforming design verificationInterfacing with layout, test, and process engineersDemonstrated analytical and systematic teamwork approach to troubleshootingIdeal experience: Switch capacitor, Phased locked loop (PLL) and/or Pulse width modulation (PWM) controller design experienceKnowledge of HDL (Verilog or VHDL) design & synthesisScripting languages such as Perl, Python or TCLThe salary range is: $117,684-$155,934. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
