About the role

Student Worker (Graduate) Office of Disability Services The Office of Disability Services is currently accepting applications for the position Student Worker (Graduate) Office of Disability Services (ODS), located at IST Building, Room 1025 and is designed to support faculty in implementing authorized testing accommodations not easily provided within their classrooms. The graduate student worker will work under the supervision of the Office of Disability Services to assist in the administration of institutional exams. Duties include administrative tasks, test proctoring, and interaction with examinees, faculty, and staff. Administrative duties include answering phones and emails, scanning, and copying, filing, maintaining testing schedule, and other clerical tasks as needed. Use of AIM, a technology resource that organizes communication for ODS is also an expectation of this role. The ODS graduate student worker will be trained to administer a variety of exams according to national testing standards to maintain integrity, security, and confidentiality of tests and examinees.
Responsibilities: Check students in as they arrive at the Testing Center. Maintain clean and quiet atmosphere for testing. Assist in the distribution and collection of test materials. Work with faculty to obtain materials and return them in a timely manner. Actively proctor exams. Implement testing rules and procedures. Work with students who need special accommodations (extended time, enlarged text, testing software, etc.) Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials. Communicate any issue to Disability Services or designee. Other duties and special projects deemed reasonable and necessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be honest and dependable. Display empathy and positive regard for others. Organizational and planning skills. Attention to detail and self-starting initiative. Ability to follow specific written and oral directions. Give excellent customer service by acting with integrity, responsibility, and courtesy. Highly proficient in spoken and written English. Previous proctoring or teaching experience desired but not required.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be a currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University. Must have a bachelor's degree. Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and have successfully completed 12 credits or more in the most recent Fall or Spring semesters. Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Other Specific Requirements of Law: This position requires a criminal background check. This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
Normal Work Schedule: 10 hours per week.
