About the role

Senior Transportation Project Manager An established engineering organization is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead complex transportation and highway projects throughout Central Texas. This is a senior-level opportunity for a Civil Engineer who combines strong technical transportation experience with the ability to lead design teams, manage projects, coordinate with agencies, and oversee projects from design through construction.
Responsibilities include:
  • Lead the planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction of transportation projects
  • Manage and mentor EITs, PEs, CAD/design staff, and subconsultants
  • Plan and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Develop and review engineering plans, specifications, calculations, and technical documents
  • Coordinate with TxDOT and local municipalities regarding project requirements, permitting, and approvals
  • Provide technical leadership and quality control throughout project delivery
  • Participate in construction-phase activities including site visits, submittal reviews, and progress meetings
  • Apply current engineering standards, regulations, and best practices to complex transportation assignments
  • Transportation experience is required.
  • Engineers with a strong background in roadway, highway, drainage, or transportation infrastructure design are encouraged to apply. Experience with the following is valuable: Design-Build or Alternative Delivery projects
  • Complex highway/interstate projects
  • Bentley Micro
  • Station and/or OpenRoadsTxDOT transportation design standards and processes
  • Roadway design, highway improvement projects, and traffic control
  • Highway drainage, hydrology/hydraulics, storm drains, culverts, or stormwater management
  • Development of design packages, plans, specifications, and technical calculations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant transportation/civil engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
  • Experience managing engineering projects and/or leading design teams
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership and mentoring to others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
