100% – Field-BasedAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Solar Field Construction Manager to oversee utility-scale solar projects across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic. This is a 100% field-based position, with regular travel to active project sites. You will lead day-to-day site execution, coordinating contractors, crews, vendors, inspectors, and project teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily field operations and coordinate subcontractors, crews, materials, and equipment.
Monitor construction progress, quality, schedule, and site performance.
Enforce OSHA and project safety requirements, including toolbox talks and site inspections.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, inspectors, local authorities, and internal project teams.
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, site documentation, and progress reporting.
Identify and resolve construction, design, weather, material, and scheduling issues.
Track labor, materials, equipment, and project costs to minimize delays and risk.
Support contractor coordination, commissioning, project closeout, and turnover to O&M.Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, codes, permits, and contractual requirements.
Qualifications:
4+ years of construction experience, preferably in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or general contracting.
Strong understanding of solar construction, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and field execution.
Experience with project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress tracking.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
Familiarity with permitting, inspections, OSHA requirements, and construction compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

This role is best suited for candidates based in Virginia or nearby Mid-Atlantic markets who are comfortable with 100% travel to project sites.
