Power Tools Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Assembly Technician is to support the assembly of heavy-duty vehicle structures and mechanical systems while meeting quality, safety, and production requirements. Specifically, you must be able to: Assemble and disassemble heavy vehicle components and structural assemblies. Install mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, rivets, fasteners, adhesives, and coatings. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentation. Safely install large components using overhead cranes and lifting fixtures. Perform vehicle tear-down, indexing, and storage of OEM components. Fabricate and fit large steel components to achieve proper alignment and fitment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work closely with production, materials, and engineering teams to resolve assembly issues. Accurately document work and utilize ERP/MRP systems as required. Cross-train across multiple assembly operations and support production needs.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Technical school or vocational training preferred. 3-5 years of experience performing heavy vehicle, military vehicle, commercial truck, or similar mechanical assembly. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications. Experience using hand tools, power tools, grinders, torque wrenches, magnetic drills, and other assembly equipment. Ability to adapt to engineering changes and rework during assembly. Experience working within manufacturing or production environments. Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
Preferred Skills: Military vehicle assembly or modification experience. Commercial truck or heavy equipment assembly experience. Forklift, overhead crane, or rigging experience. Welding experience with steel and aluminum. Surface preparation, painting, or industrial coatings experience. Certifications such as CDL, crane operation, forklift operation, or ASE certification are a plus.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movement. Ability to safely work around heavy equipment, cranes, and moving machinery. Comfortable working with adhesives, coatings, and industrial materials. Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment while meeting production expectations.
