About the role

Brooklyn, NY (onsite, 5 days) | $125,000-$150,000 base + $180,000 variable
About the role: A fast-growing startup is hiring an Account Executive to own the full sales cycle for startup wind-downs and data acquisition. You will help founders navigate one of the hardest moments in a company's life, while negotiating the data licensing deals that train the next generation of AI models. This is not a high-pressure sales role. It is a high-EQ, high-IQ motion where you are usually paying companies for their data rather than extracting money from them. Cycles are fast, roughly 13 days, the category is being defined in real time, and the compensation reflects that.
What you will be doing:
  • Running end-to-end sales conversations with founders winding down their startups, closing wind-down deals and acquiring their data sets for AI model training
  • Self-hunting 25%+ of your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, identifying companies showing distress signals
  • Negotiating data pricing and legal terms firmly, and knowing when to walk away from a bad-fit deal
  • Adopting, adapting and improving the existing sales playbook as you learn what works in an emerging category
  • Hitting a target of 10+ data sets acquired per month while holding 40%+ close rates on qualified deals
What you will need:
  • 2-4 years in client-facing sales, consulting, investment banking or partnerships at fast-growing companies
  • A concrete track record of hitting or exceeding quota
  • Evidence you have built your own outbound pipeline, not just worked inbound
Nice to have: Time at a data or AI company, an AI lab, or a high-growth startup Exposure to data licensing, data sourcing or selling data

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
