About the role

Job Description: Davenport Machine Operator We are seeking an experienced Davenport Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on Davenport screw machine experience who is comfortable with machine setup, tooling, troubleshooting, quality inspections, and maintaining production standards.
Responsibilities: Operate and set up Davenport screw machines while maintaining production and quality standards. Perform machine setups and adjustments as needed. Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and part-quality issues. Remove, sharpen, grind, and reset tooling as necessary. Load bar stock and remove chips as needed. Perform basic machine repairs and maintenance. Follow preventative maintenance procedures. Maintain tooling log sheets and required production documentation. Perform SPC charting as required. Inspect parts using micrometers and other precision measuring devices. Read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Wear required PPE and follow all company safety procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Previous experience operating and setting up Davenport machines required. Screw machine setup experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of mechanical gearing, cams, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to grind and maintain tooling. Ability to troubleshoot machine, tooling, and part issues. Ability to use micrometers and other precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Good basic math skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for 4+ hours at a time. Ability to safely work from ladders and stairs.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a dependable, mechanically inclined machine operator who can independently identify problems, make adjustments, and keep Davenport machines running efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
