Role Description:
The Senior Tax Accountant is a full-time, on-site role located in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing complex individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Tasks may include researching tax issues, identify planning opportunities, and respond to tax notices and inquiries from authorities. The Senior Tax Accountant will analyze financial statements, assist with year-end closing activities, and support clients with tax projections and advisory services. The role also maintaining accurate workpapers and documentation, and collaborating with partners and clients to deliver high-quality service.
Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in tax compliance and tax preparation, with the ability to manage complex tax engagements. Solid understanding of tax law and regulations, including experience in planning and advisory work related to tax. Advanced accounting skills, including general ledger work, reconciliations, and documentation of supporting schedules. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license or EA preferred. Several years of progressive public accounting or tax-focused experience, ideally in a client-facing role. Proficiency with Lacerte tax preparation software and accounting systems; strong Excel skills are beneficial. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
