About the role
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner who enjoys working closely with business leaders, building relationships, and helping teams succeed. This role provides HR guidance and support across multiple business units, with a focus on employee engagement, talent development, performance management, and retention. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who understands the business, builds trust with leaders, and can balance employee needs with business goals. This person will play an important role in developing people, strengthening teams, and supporting a positive workplace culture.
Travel:
Approximately 30% travel to Chicagoland locations, with occasional travel to other U.S. locations.
Reports to: HR Director
Compensation: Base Salary Range of $75k-$100k plus Bonus and Benefits
Job Duties Include:
- Partner with business leaders to understand workforce needs and provide practical HR guidance.
- Coach managers on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace concerns.
- Help leaders make informed decisions that support employees and business goals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Support employee development, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support workforce planning and organizational growth.
- Develop and implement programs that improve employee engagement, development, and retention.
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen teams and build a positive workplace culture.
- Oversee HR processes, including employee records, onboarding documentation, and HRIS administration.
- Support job evaluations, job descriptions, compensation administration, and organizational planning.
- Partner with HR leadership to improve processes and make effective use of HR systems and data.
- Stay current on employment laws and regulations across multiple states.
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience in a fast-paced environment in industries like manufacturing or warehousing.
- Experience supporting multiple locations and partnering with business leaders.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices.
- Experience with talent development, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and make sound decisions.
- Experience with HRIS required.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel to multiple locations as needed.
