About the role
Hydropower Solutions EngineerHW3 is seeking an experienced Hydropower Solutions Engineer to help shape automation and control solutions for hydroelectric projects across the United States. This is a customer-facing role combining deep hydropower expertise with solution design, technical proposals and strategic pursuit planning. You’ll work with customers, consultants, EPC contractors and internal teams on modernisation, rehabilitation and new-build projects.
What you’ll do:
Define project scope, technical requirements and execution strategies for complex hydro opportunities.
Develop solutions involving plant controls, SCADA, DCS, PLCs, instrumentation and associated mechanical systems.
Support proposals with technical approaches, estimates, risk assessments and value propositions.
Present recommendations to engineering teams, customers and senior decision-makers.
Build reusable tools, templates and standards to improve future project delivery.
What we’re looking for:
10+ years’ experience in the hydroelectric power industry.
A degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of power-generation automation and control systems.
Experience shaping complex technical pursuits and communicating with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
Ability to travel up to 20% and authorisation to work in the US without current or future sponsorship. Experience with EPC or design-build projects, turbine-generator systems, governors, excitation, protection systems and plant electrical infrastructure would be advantageous.
Location: Blue Bell or Cranberry Township, PA; Amherst, WI; Novi, MI; or Charlotte, NC.
