Serving girls in grades 1–12 and a coeducational Kindergarten, the Elms educates girls and young women to live boldly with purpose, confidence, kindness, resilience, justice, and faith. The school is seeking an Interim President/Head of School to lead its mission, academic program, people, and operations during a period of transition.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Interim President/Head of School is responsible for the management and operation of the school. The leader works collaboratively with the Board, school sponsor, faculty, staff, students, families, alumnae, and the broader community to sustain educational excellence and advance the school's mission. The Interim President/Head of School serves ex officio on the Board of Trustees and its committees.
Key Responsibilities: Mission & Catholic Identity* Champion Catholic identity, the Dominican charism, and the value of an all-girls education throughout academic and extracurricular programs.* Advance the school's mission throughout the educational experience and broader school community. Academic Leadership* Lead excellent teaching and learning.* Support faculty and staff in their professional work.* Encourage thoughtful integration of technology into the curriculum.* Promote a strong academic program consistent with the school's mission. Strategic Leadership* Collaborate with the Board on the development of near-term strategic priorities.* Focus strategic priorities on enrollment, fundraising, and academics.* Communicate strategies transparently and consistently to school stakeholders. Operations & Administration* Oversee personnel and business affairs.* Manage the school's budget and financial operations.* Oversee facilities, safety, and compliance.* Ensure adherence to school policies and applicable laws and regulations.* Provide required reports to the Board and school sponsor.* Prepare and submit the annual report at the sponsor's designated time. Community & Relationship Building* Build strong relationships with students, families, faculty, staff, alumnae, and community members.* Foster a spirit of cooperative innovation and effective communication throughout the school community.

Position Details: Location: Akron, OhioThe position is based at Our Lady of the Elms and typically requires approximately 40 hours per week.The schedule may include occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends for Board meetings, school events, and other school priorities. Limited remote flexibility may be available.
