Position Summary: Ford is seeking an Ergonomist Engineer to support the ergonomics program at Michigan Assembly Plant. This role partners with production, engineering, safety, medical, labor, and plant leadership to identify and reduce ergonomic risks in manufacturing operations. The position evaluates workstations, analyzes injury and medical trends, supports new model launches and process changes, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee well-being while supporting safety, quality, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct ergonomic assessments of manufacturing workstations and processes. Identify ergonomic risk factors and implement workplace improvements. Partner with production, engineering, safety, medical, and labor teams. Analyze injury, medical, and ergonomic trend data to identify improvement opportunities. Support new model launches and process changes from an ergonomics perspective. Ensure compliance with Ford ergonomics standards and best practices. Develop and deliver ergonomics training and awareness programs. Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects focused on safety and efficiency. Utilize 3D modeling tools to evaluate workstation and process designs. Support operational performance through proactive ergonomics initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Ergonomics, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Human Factors, Kinesiology, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field. Minimum 1 year of experience in ergonomics, manufacturing, industrial engineering, safety, or a related technical field. Experience performing ergonomic assessments and implementing workplace improvements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools. Experience with 3D modeling.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Engineering, or related field. Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) credential. Automotive manufacturing experience. New model launch experience. Familiarity with ergonomic simulation tools.#LI-JV1
