The position entails handling the vertical case load of felony cases involving investigating possible bias cases and prosecuting [MB1] hate crimes. This commonly involves working extensively with members of the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force and often concern incidents which garner significant media attention. In addition to handling these investigations and cases, the position also requires community outreach to impacted groups and educating members of the public and law enforcement on hate crime prosecution.
Qualifications: An interested applicant must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the New York State bar in good standing and have at least 4 years of experience as a prosecutor. Applicants should also have: Grand jury and felony trial experience Experience in investigations, including, but not limited to, drafting search warrants Talent and proficiency with PowerPoint presentations Strong organization, written and oral skills Salary will be commensurate with experience, ranging from $102,000 to $138,000.Applicants should submit a resume, along with a statement of interest addressed to Counsel to the Chief ADA Vincent J.
