The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego ( https://pediatrics.ucsd.edu ) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking physicians to join our faculty at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in our Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine. The division is also responsible for outpatient services for the Center for Gender-Affirming Care, as well as the inpatient Medical Behavioral Unit (MBU). The physician will be responsible for providing clinical care, both independently and in collaboration with trainees, as well as engaging in the development and implementation of successful educational, community-based, or advocacy programs within the field of Adolescent Medicine and other related fields. Additional responsibilities include educating and teaching trainees and clinical, translational, or basic science scholarly pursuits or research. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
