Inside Technical Sales & Applications Specialist – Electrical Systems
Position Summary: We are seeking an Inside Technical Sales & Applications Specialist – Electrical Systems to support B2B customers across Military, Industrial, and Commercial markets. This role combines technical product knowledge, applications support, and sales. You will work closely with customers to understand their electrical requirements, review technical specifications, recommend product solutions, and develop accurate technical quotes and proposals. You will also serve as a key technical liaison between customers, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing, supporting both standard products and engineered-to-order solutions throughout the sales cycle.
What You'll Do: Provide technical sales support and product/application assistance to B2B customers. Review electrical schematics, line diagrams, drawings, specifications, datasheets, and other technical documentation. Evaluate customer requirements including voltage, current, power, load, inputs/outputs, environmental conditions, and electrical interfaces. Recommend appropriate products and configurations based on customer applications and technical requirements. Determine when an application requires product modification, custom engineering, or additional Engineering review. Prepare technical quotations, cost estimates, and commercial proposals for standard, configured, and engineered-to-order products. Work directly with customer Engineering, Procurement, Program Management, and other technical stakeholders. Collaborate with Field Sales, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, and Manufacturing on complex opportunities. Support the technical handoff of engineered-to-order and complex customer orders. Manage assigned opportunities from technical discovery and quotation through negotiation, order conversion, and processing. Identify opportunities for additional products, upselling, and cross-selling based on customer applications and purchasing needs. Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity pipelines, quotation status, and sales activity. Stay current on company products, capabilities, electrical technologies, and customer applications.
What We're Looking For: 3+ years of experience in technical sales, applications support, technical customer support, or a related technical-commercial role preferred. Strong understanding of electrical systems and components. Experience with power electronics, AC/DC or DC/DC power conversion, batteries, power distribution, UPS systems, or power supplies is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, line diagrams, specifications, datasheets, and technical drawings. Working knowledge of voltage, current, power, load requirements, input/output characteristics, and electrical interfaces. Ability to understand customer applications and recommend appropriate products or configurations. Strong technical communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Experience preparing technical quotations, proposals, cost estimates, or configured product solutions preferred. Experience with Salesforce, Hub Spot, or similar CRM/ERP systems is a plus. Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical education or training in Electrical/Electronics, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred. Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline is preferred but not required. Relevant technical sales, applications, military, or industry experience may be considered in place of formal technical education.
