About the Role:
Clem's Seafood is looking for a friendly and reliable Seafood Market Cashier to join our team in beautiful Southport, NC! This is a great opportunity to be part of a local seafood market where fresh catches and great customer service are at the heart of everything we do. Responsibilities:
Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner at the point of sale
Process cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately using a POS system
Answer customer questions about seafood products, pricing, and availability
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary checkout and market area
Assist with stocking, labeling, and displaying fresh seafood and market products
Handle customer concerns and returns with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
Support team members during busy market hours and peak seasonal rushes
Requirements:
Prior cashier, retail, or customer service experience preferred
Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and card transactions
Ability to work in a fast-paced, seafood market environment
Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in cool/wet conditions
Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude
Availability to work weekends, holidays, and seasonal peak hours
Food handling knowledge or willingness to learn seafood safety practices
