About the role
A high-growth, multi-location organization is seeking a Director of Corporate Tax to build and lead its internal corporate tax capability.
This is a newly created leadership role for an experienced tax professional who can bring greater tax expertise and ownership in-house while continuing to effectively manage outside tax advisors.
A major near-term priority will be establishing a scalable ASC 740 tax provision process and strengthening the tax infrastructure required to support a larger, increasingly sophisticated organization and future public-company reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical tax expertise with the ability and willingness to operate hands-on in an environment where processes, systems, and capabilities are still being developed.
Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the company’s internal corporate tax function.
Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision process.
Establish appropriate tax processes, controls, documentation, and supporting schedules.
Develop tax reporting and disclosure capabilities consistent with future public-company requirements.
Evaluate and implement tax provision technology and related systems.
Manage relationships and deliverables with external tax advisors.
Determine which tax activities should ultimately be handled internally versus outsourced.
Oversee federal income tax compliance and related reporting.
Provide oversight of multi-state income tax and other state and local tax matters.
Coordinate tax calendars, information requests, and compliance requirements across the organization.
Partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other functions on the tax implications of significant transactions and business initiatives.
Support tax considerations related to acquisitions, organizational growth, and expansion.
Develop scalable tax policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.
Candidate Profile Significant corporate income tax experience with particular depth in ASC 740, tax accounting, and tax provision preparation.
Strong understanding of financial statement tax disclosures and public-company reporting requirements.
Experience with a public company, SEC registrant, or clients operating in public-company environments strongly preferred.
Experience with multi-state income taxation and broader state and local tax matters.
Experience evaluating, implementing, or utilizing tax provision software is highly desirable.
Combination of public accounting and corporate tax experience is preferred.
Candidates currently in public accounting will also be considered if they bring significant ASC 740, provision, and public-company experience.
CPA and/or Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
Ability to manage external advisors while developing greater internal capabilities.
Strong project-management and communication skills.
Comfortable working in a hands-on, build-oriented environment.
Why This Role This is an opportunity for a strong tax professional to take broad ownership, build infrastructure from the ground up, and become a key advisor to senior finance leadership.

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
