About the role
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and revise AutoCAD working drawings, including array layouts and installation diagrams, for use as field instructions by the installation team.
Produce site plans, roof plans, electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, construction details, and elevations for three-phase commercial PV projects.
Compile structural attachment and layout data for submission to the structural engineer of record to support timely sign-off ahead of permitting.
Interpret input from sales, operations, and field personnel to progress drawing sets independently, flagging information gaps as needed.
Maintain consistent drafting standards (title blocks, layer conventions, standard details, symbol libraries) across all drawing sets.
Communicate drawing status and revisions clearly to operations and field personnel, and submit all sets for review and approval before release for permitting or installation.
Perform additional design or operations duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associate's degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in drafting/CAD; demonstrated AutoCAD proficiency required.
Experience with three-phase commercial electrical systems strongly preferred.
Solar PV industry experience preferred but not required; strong CAD fundamentals and willingness to learn solar-specific conventions (NEC single-lines, racking/attachment details, interconnection drawings) will be considered.
Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines with moderate independent judgment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
