About the role
- Greet patients on the phone and in person
- Place patients in the exam rooms
- Take vital signs of patients
- Assist and setup up for examination, treatment, and procedures
- Keep accurate patient files
- Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist
- Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
- Maintain HIPAARequirementsCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
- Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
- Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
- Customer services skills
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
- Certification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of trainingEMR Experience, Athena experience is a plus
