About the role

Description: We are looking for a temp to hire Network engineer to join our team at Paragon.
Position Summary: The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s enterprise network with a strong focus on Cisco technologies. This role oversees advanced network security controls, access solutions, and infrastructure reliability across all sites.
Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and optimize Cisco network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, WLCs, and related technologies. Lead administration of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and 802.1X authentication for wired and wireless access. Manage and support dynamic routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, WAN connectivity, and hybrid cloud network integrations (including secure connectivity to cloud providers). Maintain network availability, security, and performance through proactive monitoring, lifecycle planning, and capacity forecasting. Implement and enforce network security controls, segmentation strategies, and secure configuration baselines. Collaborate with IT and security leadership to design network architectures and present proposed solutions. Serve as technical lead for infrastructure projects, upgrades, and enterprise network initiatives. Provide advanced troubleshooting support for escalated incidents. Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, inventory, and operational procedures. Participate in on call; occasional travel to remote sites as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. 7+ years of progressive network engineering experience in enterprise environments. Advanced hands‑on experience with Cisco networking platforms, including ISE, WLC, 802.1X, and VPN technologies. Strong expertise with LAN/WAN architectures and dynamic routing (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP). Proficiency supporting Windows Server, Windows client networks, and Linux-based systems. Demonstrated experience with DNS, DHCP, certificates, and core network services. Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and network hardening. Current Cisco CCNA certification required. Ability to lift to 50 lbs and work in varied environments.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications: Cisco CCNP, CCNP Security, or equivalent advanced certifications. Experience with Windows Server 2019 or newer. Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as NIST, PCI, SOX, or FISMA. Virtualization experience is a plus.
