About the role

Banyan Search is helping a family-owned growing company in their search for a Controller / Assistant Controller. This is a newly created role as the company grows and develops additional tools to streamline financial reporting, monthly accounting responsibilities and accounting processes. This position REQUIRES a CPA certification, and strong accounting experience with a preference for public accounting experience as a foundation. This is a fully ONSITE position. Level of role is dependent on candidate experience set.
Responsibilities: Oversee and actively participate in all accounting functions, including month-end close. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reporting packages for senior leadership. Monitor compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Support forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow monitoring in collaboration with the CFO.Partner with business units to analyze financial results and support issue resolution. Oversee the year-end closing process, audits, tax compliance, and external reporting. Supervise accounting staff, providing timely feedback and support.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and CPA certification required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Leadership experience managing a teamERP experience, advanced Excel and BI skills, and the ability to lead staff and communicate clearly with non-financial leaders.
