About the role

Overview As Director, Audience & Content Strategy, you lead Filene’s brand, audience, and content efforts to drive awareness, engagement, and measurable business outcomes. You will blend strategy with hands-on execution across channels, shaping editorial direction and coordinating with cross-functional partners. You’ll own audience segmentation, content optimization, and performance analytics, ensuring consistency and impact. Compensation / Benefitsmedicaldentalvision 401ktuition reimbursementflexible workplace Responsibilities Define audience segmentation, role-based taxonomy, and messaging frameworks to fuel growth Translate insights into actionable content pathways and engagement opportunities Collaborate with Membership, Research, Innovation, Advisory Services, Product, and Marketing teams to align with priorities Establish audience-level performance measures and use test-and-learn to optimize messaging Own enterprise content strategy, editorial roadmap, and calendar; ensure brand consistency Serve as editor-in-chief, translate research into accessible content, and ensure governance and workflows Oversee integrated channel strategy across social, web, email, blogs, podcasts, events, and more Lead digital discovery strategy (SEO, GEO, AI ecosystems) and ensure content discoverability Leverage AI, analytics, and tech to improve content development, efficiency, and growth Lead brand strategy, storytelling, and thought leadership; write and edit executive content Develop content performance framework with KPIs aligned to awareness, engagement, growth, retention, revenue Manage budget for content and channels; coordinate with agencies and partners Support Filene’s mission and brand culture; manage workload across multiple projects Key requirements Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field 7-10 years in product marketing, content marketing, content strategy, audience development, editorial leadership, or related disciplines Experience translating complex offerings into compelling audience narratives Strong strategic and hands-on orientation with ability to write, edit, manage channels, analyze results, and optimize Deep multi-channel marketing understanding across social, web, email, events, etc. Hands-on experience managing social media strategy and execution (preferred)Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation skills Understanding of audience segmentation, lifecycle messaging, editorial planning, brand development, and value proposition positioning Working knowledge of SEO, GEO, AI-powered discovery, and evolving digital ecosystems Experience with CMS, analytics platforms (GA4), and AI-enabled tools Ability to evaluate content investments, interpret performance data, and link to growth Experience leading through influence across cross-functional teams, agencies, and partners Thrives in a small, collaborative environment with multi-hat leaders Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities Intellectual curiosity about credit unions and member needscollaborationexecutive communicationanalytical mindsetSEOGEOAI-powered discovery
