$2105.28/week -Job Summary: Performs histology laboratory procedures and tests requested by physicians, ensuring accurate sample preparation, staining, and documentation. Maintains quality control and operates specialized equipment to support diagnostic pathology.
Responsibilities: Prepare tissue sections for microscopic examination using embedding, cutting, and staining techniques. Operate and troubleshoot histology equipment to ensure optimal performance. Accurately stain and coverslip tissue and cytology slides, including special and immunostains. Maintain and document quality control procedures, including preparation of solutions and equipment calibration. Identify, label, and process tissue specimens according to departmental protocols. Deliver prepared slides to pathologists and record all findings and maintenance activities.
Qualifications: Hold a Bachelor's Degree in cytotechnology, histology, or related field; Master's degree preferred. Possess a current Histology Technician certification from ASCP (preferred). Demonstrate at least two years of recent experience in histology, including microtomy, embedding, and staining. Maintain current BLS certification and valid nursing license if applicable. Proficient in using histology equipment and chemicals with strong attention to detail.
